Bosscher Lawyers’ Solicitor Michael Bosscher is representing Brisbane business owner Cohen William Haseman, who is charged with trafficking drugs and weapons during Special Operation Ironside, regarded as Australia’s ‘sting of the century’.
This operation led by the Australian Federal Police resulted in the arrest of more than 100 alleged organised crime members including Haseman, for his alleged role in a criminal syndicate trafficking drugs and firearms throughout Queensland.
Michael Bosscher filed for bail at Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday for Haseman — arguing that he was a low flight risk — to which Magistrate Belinda Merrin granted under certain conditions.
“Given these occurred four years ago, the case against Mr Haseman so far as these matters are concerned is not an overly strong one and in fact, I would say it is verging on the point of non-existent,” Mr Bosscher stated.
Haseman was officially charged with multiple offences including supplying dangerous drugs and unlawful trafficking in weapons, trafficking of dangerous drugs, possession of dangerous drugs, possession of property suspected of being proceeds of an offence and possessing anything used in the commission of a crime.
