Builder and Guard Accused of Extortion

A Builder from Queensland, and Brisbane Correctional Centre Guard were previously extradited from Queensland to New South Wales in order to appear before the Hornsby local Court.

Both faced charges for demanding cash with menace. The Builder also faced charges for recruiting a person to engage in a criminal activity whilst the Correctional Centre Guard was accused of three charges of intimidation and one count of malicious damage.

It was alleged that the Builder sought to recover a debt and hired the Guard to stand over him.

Once in New South Wales, Jack Leitner of the Sydney branch of Bosscher Lawyers represented the Guard. The matter was finalised last week following plea negotiations whereupon he avoided a custodial sentence.
