Jockey Allegedly Assaulted Girl 200 Times

It was heard in a Melbourne County Court, that a jockey allegedly preyed on the daughter of a couple he regularly visited, sexually assaulting her over a 13-year period, in offending that began more than half a century ago, a court has heard.

The prosecution alleged that Thomas Michael Doyle, represented by Bosscher LawyersAlex Jones, sexually assaulted the girl during his frequent visits to her family’s home in between jobs as a jumps jockey.

Doyle, now 76 and a pensioner living in Brisbane, was to have faced trial this week but instead pleaded guilty to one representative charge of indecent assault, related to offending from when the girl was aged between seven and 15.
