Passport Surrendered and Assets Frozen in Light of Charges
Gordonvale man, and manager of a Cairns food wholesale business, Anthony McEwan, has had his assets frozen and surrendered his passport after charges accusing him of approximately $1.5 million in fraudulent dealings were laid.
Mr McEwan, who was on the verge of a family holiday when he was arrested, will be confined to Australian borders until the charges are dealt with. He is charged with the dishonest application of property by an employee.
Mr McEwans solicitor, Alex Jones of Bosscher Lawyers, states that his client emphatically refutes the allegations before the court, and the alleged admissions made. Mr McEwans will face court in September.
