Queensland Teenager Will Stay in Syria

The Queensland teenager that was subject to media reports that he was implicated with a terrorist organisation in Syria, has advised that he will not be returning to Australia in the short-term.

Oliver Bridgeman has denied claims he travelled to the country to engage with any terrorist organisation or rebel group and was recently filmed working in a refugee camp.

His parents have since engaged Bosscher Lawyers to provide advice when Mr Bridgeman decides to return home.

“I certainly anticipate that upon his return there will be some questioning by the relevant authorities,” human rights and criminal lawyer Alex Jones said in a podcast.

Mr Jones said investigations had been conducted into Mr Bridgeman’s online activities and there was no evidence to suggest he was involved in anything illegal.
