In the Maroochydore Magistrates Court, Matthew Hunt appeared to face numerous charges arising from a one-night Noosa rampage with his alleged 20-year-old co-offender, Nathan Bell.
Defence lawyer Anna Smith from Bosscher Lawyers said drugs and alcohol had fuelled the opportunistic crimes. “At some point in the evening, Mr Hunt was admitted to hospital after overdosing,” Ms Smith said.
“He says he woke up about 4am and discharged himself and that is when the receiving tainted goods charge occurred.”
Magistrate Clifford Taylor ordered Hunt to repay $780 and sentenced him to three months’ jail, suspended after serving 10 days.
