After being initially refused bail by the Magistrates Court, Desmond Daves and his solicitor, Alex Jones, successfully applied to the Supreme Court of New South Wales to have that decision overturned.
Desmond Daves is charged with a total of nine offences arising from his arrest on the Oxley Highway at Somerton on the 21st of July. Police allege that Mr Daves was travelling at 150km/h in a 100km/h zone when he overtook a police car. Police also allege that they uncovered drugs and cash in a search of Mr Daves car.
Mr Daves bail conditions require him to report daily to police and to reside in Gunnedah, his case had been adjourned until December 11.
